Arrival/Departure:
Paris: Train
Arriving
by train:
Paris has three
major international train stations, Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est, and Gare
de Lyon. Each station is served by the local Metro/Bus system and taxi.
All three stations are located inside the Paris city limits and are served
by a dedicated Metro station, so transfer to and from the train station
to the Metro is very easy. Those with more than a small amount of luggage
will probably want to consider taking a taxi.
More information:
For information on trains and schedules, check out the excellent SNCF
website. A Eurail pass is usually cheaper than buying individual train
tickets, even for those who don't qualify for student rates. For extensive
information on Eurail passes and other train passes see Rail Europe
